Feeding Orphans from GPM Farm

orphansparcels_groupPastor Patrick of the Glory Power Center in Magona, South Africa was able to feed local orphans (some pictured above with Pastor Patrick) from a harvest of beets (see below), tomatoes (see some of the tomatoes below) and local nuts from GPM’s orphans farm close to the Center. GPM added potatoes and onions to create food parcels for these needy, whose needs have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Some of the stories of these precious orphans:

Zandhi (below in black top with Pastor Patrick) has been living alone for years after her mother passed. She has been penniless and was so happy to receive the much needed food parcel.

Layborn (in white shirt below), cares for his younger brother and sister, as their parents passed several years ago. He graduated from high school last year and has been unable to find work and they have gone hungry often. Layborn and his siblings were so thankful for the food parcels.

Difference (in red shirt below; also pictured is Patrick’s wife, Bonghi), who lived in the GPM orphans village several years ago, was working in Pretoria in recent years but lost his job because of the pandemic. He came back to Magona and has been destitute. He was so thankful that now he had something to cook because of the food parcel.

Culfonea (below in burgundy top) lost her mother last year and has been living with her destitute grandmother since. They have gone without food often and were so thankful to receive the food parcel.

Other orphans were helped with much needed food, and GPM hopes to help many more regularly in the future.

Pastor Patrick was able to sell the produce from the farm locally in Magona (see below, with Patrick adding other produce to sell) and at a storefront in the nearby regional town of Malamulele. The use of this storefront was a blessing to Patrick after he prayed for a woman to be healed of stomach pain that she had experienced for months. She was healed and was so appreciative, that she allowed Patrick to use her storefront.

The proceeds from the sale of the produce will be used to provide money for staples of corn meal and more for orphans, as well as needed income as part of Patrick’s business. As harvests get larger from the GPM’s farm expansion, Patrick should be able to sell enough produce to also be self-sufficient.

Pray that God provide for the equipment for the needed expansion of the Glory Power orphans farm. This includes many meters of drip irrigation hoses and additional seeds and labor. The need to feed many more orphans is great! Thank you and be blessed!
