GPM Daycare Graduation and New Christian School Planned

creche_grad_dancingRecently, the Glory Power Pace Crèche (British word for Daycare) in Magona, South Africa had its first graduation. These four and five year olds actually started when the Crèche opened in January of 2020. Of course, COVID interrupted the school year. 22 children were able to finish and graduate. Graduations are an elaborate celebration in the African culture, as shown by the children dancing in their tribal dress.

The Crèche reaches out mostly to impoverished families in the Magona village area. Many of these families only have single parents because of death from AIDS and abandonment. The Crèche charges less than other daycares in the area, most of which are over 20 miles away in the nearest town.

The children at the Crèche are taught to love Jesus and about the amazing hope that He offers in this life and for eternity. The Crèche also teaches the children English. South Africa has 11 languages, but English is the universal language that is required for anyone to get a good job and career.

The Headmaster (Principal) of the Glory Power Pace Crèche is Pastor Bonghi (pictured walking with the student), wife of Pastor Patrick (pictured below with another student), the lead pastor of the Glory Power Center in Magona where the Crèche is located. The parents of the graduates of children at the Glory Power Pace Crèche are extremely happy because these children were taught a Christian foundation and beginner English. They are also glad that Pastor Patrick prays with the children and encourages them with the other staff. In fact, the parents are so happy that they are practically begging Glory Power to start a school where their children can advance. Chief Charles of Magona, a good friend of Glory Power Ministries, is also encouraging GPM to start a Christian school. This is consistent with GPM’s vision to have a Christian school.

So, after praying about it, GPM has decided to start the Glory Power Pace School in the next several months! This school will begin with Grade R (Grade 1 in South Africa) and teach a Christian-based curriculum. GPM will add subsequent grades to the school as the Lord provides. The School will start in an empty building in the Glory Power Orphans Village which is across the road from the Glory Power Center in Magona. GPM plans to build a newer building for the school in the future. A fence will need to be built around this school immediately for protection. Chairs, extra tables, materials and money for salaries will also be needed in order to launch this school.

GPM is excited to further teach these children to love Jesus and the English language to prepare them to be blessed. If you would like to help with the costs of starting the Glory Power Pace School, please go to the link below. The children and their parents will be so grateful – and so will we. Be blessed!
