GPM distributed food parcels of vegetables to over 100 hungry and some even starving orphans and families in Magona, South Africa this last week. GPM used harvested spinach from its Orphans Farm (see picture) and, in addition, GPM bought tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and butternut squash for the parcels.

All of South Africa is under lockdown – only essential people can work – because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Soldiers are on the streets enforcing shelter in place. Many poor in the country are not receiving any government aid and are greatly suffering.

The people GPM helped were so appreciative. Some of their stories are below:

Pfuxi (fu’ shee) (see first picture) is 13 years old and there are seven children in her family, all living with their mother in the dilapidated hut behind her. Her mother is not getting any money from anywhere. Pfuxi was so thankful to receive the parcels because she will “be able to eat very nice” today. She said that God must bless Glory Power Ministries for helping her family.

The young man pictured below is Hlamulo Maluleke, standing in front of the hut he lives in with a brother and two sisters. They are orphans. The family would get by with scarce work here and there, but have had no work because of the Coronavirus lockdown. Hlamulo says life is not easy, and He is so thankful to “the church (of) Glory Power Ministries for feeding us.”

The woman pictured in yellow is Mrs. Khomisa, showing her picking up her food parcels at Chief Magona’a complex. As you see, she is very happy to receive the food because she is not getting money from the government. She lost her work, like virtually most of the others in the village, because of the lockdown and is especially appreciative to Glory Power.

The man in red, pictured with Pastor Patrick, is Risimati. He said he thanks God for Glory Power supplying him with food because he is literally penniless. He was living by working peace jobs (working here and there). Since he is also receiving no help from the government since the lockdown, he is thankful that Glory Power is helping the people by feeding the poor.
