GPM recently opened a daycare at the Glory Power Center (GPC) in Magona, South Africa. The daycare is called the Glory Power Pace Crèche and is for four and five year olds. Crèche means daycare in one of the South African languages. The Creche has 43 children as of this writing.
The Creche is primarily for the poorest children in the area, besides orphans, whose parents, usually only a mother, cannot afford the cost of normal daycares in the area, which charge the equivalent of $50 a month. The Glory Power Crèche only charges the equivalent of $15 per month as a service to the community.
The Creche is run by Pastor Bonghi (pictured registering a child for the Creche) from the GPC and also has a teacher and an assistant. The children in the Crèche are taught about Jesus and how much He loves them, and how He has a good plan for their lives. The children are also provided with a meal each day and have nice furniture and toys to play with and learn from.
The children are also taught English in the Crèche, which is the universal language in South Africa and is required to get a decent job. There are many complaints about the poor quality of education at the government schools. Glory Power wants to teach these children English as soon as possible to enhance their future.
We are excited to teach such young children to love Jesus, as well as a springboard to a good education. GPM is also planning to have a Christian school next to the GPC in Magona. The plan is to initially establish Grade One classes for these children in the Crèche to be promoted to.
Pleae pray for these precious children to be everything that God created them to be. Also, please pray that GPM is able to establish Grade One and the rest of the Christian school soon. God bless you!
